The history of the winery started in 1850. It is intertwined with Chablis' history and with the growth of its vineyard.

At that time, there was no official boundary for the Chablis wine appellation and no ranking of the "crus" : the winemakers were discovering new terroirs and soils that the Cistercian monks had cultivated earlier. ... Laroche was one of these pioneers.
A century later, the technical innovation lets Laroche reveal the best characteristics of the great wines of Chablis coming from its soils : purity and minerality.

The Laroche house has been looking for great terroirs in the past twenty years : in the Languedoc, in Chile and in South Africa. In these places, the house has bought unique vinyards and has built adapted vat houses.
