Domaine Jean Sipp

Located on the most famous of wine routes, in Ribeauvillé, Domaine Jean Sipp is a family-run winery in the heart of the Alsace vineyards. For 4 generations, all the vinification and marketing of our wines has been carried out in a 15th-century manor house in the upper town.

In 2014, Jean-Guillaume took over the reins of the estate following ... his training at the Lycée Agricole in Rouffach, after completing work placements with a number of wineries, including domaines Zind-Humbrecht in Alsace, Olivier Leflaive in Burgundy, Marcel Guigal in Ampuis in the Rhône and domaine Mont-Redon in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. During his career, Jean-Guillaume has also had the opportunity to get close to vineyards in the New World, notably in Chile, Argentina, South Africa and New Zealand.

Under his impetus, the winery took on a new lease of life, starting with the vines, where he developed soil cultivation and affirmed his commitment to the environment. His efforts were rewarded with HVE (High Environmental Value) certification in 2019 and organic certification in 2021. In the cellar, he continues his work, making wines that are drier than those of his forebears, with great complexity and clockwork precision. He opts for parcel-based vinification, which has led to the emergence of Riesling Grossberg and Riesling Haguenau, as well as a dry Pinot Gris Hagel. With his partner, Céline, an oenologist trained in Reims, they developed the sparkling wines and created their Cuvée Évidence. They also chose to modernise the image of the winery by creating new labels.
