Champagne G.H. Martel & C°

We had a great time during the tour of the cellar beneath the Champagne house. The tasting that followed was also great. The guide was very informative, had extensive overall knowledge of champagne and he was very pleasant to listen to.I can recommend this tour to everybody that would like to visit the champagne cellars and to learn about Champagne.

Petite cave agréable à visiter. Les explications sur la fabrication du champagne sont claires. Le champagne est très bon.

The 25th of may I had the chance to assist to visit the cellars of Martell. The previous friday, the 22nd, I wrote through Rue de Vignerons asking if it was possible to cancel one of the two reservations I had made for the 25th. This, because the person I was going with couldn't make it to France, and the only option was to cancell both of the reservations. The 25th at midday, I went to the cellars asking if there was any chance to get the refund of one of the two reservations. The person in charge, told me she was going to ask, but because the resrvation was on the same day, she didn't think ot could be possible.I told her about me writing on the previous friday, and not getting a response. This is why I'm writing back. Ayway, I had a really nice experience. I really enjoyed and even got the oportunity to purchase some of your prdocuts.

The cellar tour itself was very interesting and with a really engaged host. The champagne tasting was ok but we felt the information was lacking. The host was absent for most of the tasting and it would have enriched our experience to have someone present to answer questions (especially given some people in our group felt the dosage was too high and would have liked to discuss rationale + options for drier champagnes) and provide more information on tasting notes. We would still recommend the tour and tasting, but it was the only 4.5/5 of the 6 tastings we did (others 5/5)
