Het wijnhuis

Wijnhuis Fonroque strekt zich uit over 17,60 hectare wijngaarden, een paar honderd meter ten noordwesten van de stad Saint-Emilion. Het ligt verspreid over een kalksteenplateau en een naar het westen gerichte heuvel. Château Fonroque was de allereerste Grand Cru Classé die biologisch-dynamisch gecertificeerd werd.

Biodynamic wine tasting

We had a great time doing this tour! The grounds are beautiful, and the tour was short and to the point. It was interesting finding out about the lunar calendar and biodynamic wines. The tasting was lovely and our guide, Barbara, was very nice, knowledgeable, and sociable. A piece of bread between wines would have been great. All in all a great experience.

My wife and I enjoyed our visit very much. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about biodynamics and the château's practices. We learned a lot and sampled some wonderful wines.

La visite s'est bien passée malgré le mauvais temps, l'accueil était bon et nous avons passé un bon moment là-bas. Nous avons été très bien reçus et avons dégusté 4 vins superbes, de très grande qualité.

Informative tour of the property starting in the vineyard and then to the winery and cellar. Then we had a tasting in the main building. Exactly what we had hoping for, and the team were really friendly and helpful, spoke English very clearly for us. Lovely setting and really easy to find. We particularly liked learning about their biodynamic practices.
