Domaine Maire et Fils

We had a great time with our tour of the estate. Our guide gave us a lot of explanation on the different grapes, why they are planted the way they are and the entire process of going from a grape vine to a bottle of jura wine. They also gave us fun facts about the history of both their own winery and wine making in the area in general.We got to taste 6 great wines. Some were very intriguing in a positive way. Im personally not huge on white wines, but I ended up primarily buying white wines from their shop after the tour. The most interesting and probably their best wine in my oppinion was definitely the vin jaune, which compares to no other wine I've tasted before.If you are interested in regional wines, this is definitely a fun activity that's worth the time and money. We got the tour in English as we speak like no french and the guide was very easy to understand.

Pour les amateurs de vins de Jura, l’expérience est parfaite. Autant la dégustation sur les Savagnins que celle sur les vins Jaunes. Le représentant prend le temps d expliquer les cépages, les terroirs, les sols, les modes de fabrication avec sympathie et passion. La dégustation est de choix et laisse le temps d’apprécier. Pour être passé réaliser une dégustation aujourd'hui, je peux attester d'un excellent acceuil! Notre interlocuteur a su faire preuve de culture remarquable au sujet des ses produits sans même mentionner sa sympathie débordante. Je ne peux que recommander!

La dégustation nous a beaucoup plu : elle était à la fois guidée et professionnelle. C'était une première pour nous, et la pédagogie dont a fait preuve notre hôte nous donne clairement envie de renouveler l'expérience. Une très belle activité à faire lors d’un passage dans le Jura. You rarely get the change to taste different years and terroirs of Vin Jaune but with this tasting you can! Learned a lot. Bought some too :) If you like Vin Jaune this is the tasting to do!

Very good tour where we got to see different parts of the producers place. Both beautiful places. We learned a lot about Jura wine and got to try all the different kinds they make. Highly recommend!
