Champagne A. Bergère

A very warm welcome from the whole team and a lovely courtyard setting. Relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed the variety of the selection and also appreciated being educated on the different tastes and their origins. We preferred different bottles, which showed that the tasting catered to a full range of preferences. Overall, I’d say the tasting was a solid 5/5. We ended up purchasing a bottle of the millésime and a picnic hamper from the shop. We will also continue to purchase A Bergère from our local wine shop.

It was already the second time we booked a tour with A. Bergère, because we were so pleased with the first time in 2024. The team is really dedicated. Very educational tour and it’s so nice to see everything in the vineyard itself. Explaining the process from start till end is really an assertive. We really liked the tasting afterwards as we could actually choose what to taste upon our own preferences. Also during the tasting the explanations were really great. In short: This is absolutely recommended.

Our arrival was 20min late because of train from Paris had some issues. When we arrived there was some confusion of our tour. We were told that the person who should guide us hadn’t arrived yet, so we got glass of champagne both and sat down for waiting. After some 15mins of waiting one of the employees took us to a smaller “bar” and gave us about 1,5h presentation that was just mind blowing. It started by asking the level of our knowledge and then we went through the “Le nez du vin” set and had four different champagne for tasting. To our level (heavy users, med low knowledge) the expertise of personnel was super high, and they were very friendly and polite. On our base line this was worth of every penny! At the end we bought some t-shirts, because frankly I think we got some extra because of their confusion in the beginning. We will be there back next spring.

The visit was an excellent experience: the place looks really nice and charming. The tasting takes place in a cellar. Explanations are clear and comprehensive and adapted to the level of knowledge. The Champagne we tasted was of course excellent. Definitely recommended.

I had a great tour and tasting with Aurore from A. Bergere and would happily recommend them to any visitor. It was a 5 star experience with lots of good insights, great company and good time to explore the terroir and fields. And the Champagne served was excellent

Having been told to check out some of the smaller champagne producers, I was intrigued by the A. Bergère house as it was located in the centre of Epernay but was advertised as a small producer. Though they did not have any reviews, I wanted to give the house tour a chance. Suffice to say that I was extremely satisfied with the tour. The house is tastefully decorated with small pieces of art and has a bar staffed by a most welcoming attendant. She greeted everyone with a smile and had wonderful English. When I asked for a tasting before the tour, she took into account the champagnes that I will taste so that I can have a different champagne to those that I will taste during the tour. It’s the little touches like this that makes an experience more personal. The tour was a small group (we were only six) and this allowed us to have a good conversation with the guide, and we were not rushed to finish our glasses (which were also generously filled). There was a good discussion about the history of the house, and the tasting notes were very helpful for first time tasters. Needless to say, the champagnes were excellent, and the guide did a great job of moving from the simpler to the more complex flavours. On exiting the tour, we were not pushed to buy anything, which convinced me to buy two bottles of the champagne I tasted during the tour and taste another glass before leaving. If you can only attend one tasting in Epernay, I would highly recommend leaving the large houses be and try A. Bergère’s tour instead!
