Château Ambe Tour Pourret

The tour at the chateau was beyond any expectations a very special and memorable experience... The guide shared her knowledge of the diverse terrain in Saint Emilion (which makes all the difference for each crop), the science, art and challenges of growing organic vines(such as relying on pheromones to deter butterflies from laying their eggs! Not to mention the rose bushes and grass...I won't spoil it!). We were then shown to the vaults where the magic happens..! The history, the family blending tradition and modern equipment to produce a truly remarkable cremant by Celene (the daughter) as well as the red Saint- Emilion grand crux (70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet) which left an unforgettable taste in our mouth (by François the mother). We were then taken to the 2 week old wine stored in smoked /toasted oak barrels of different toasting levels and flavours. Art and magic...the tasting of course to top it all up and to our relief and privilege,there was travel size wine for us traveling just with hand luggage. Merci beaucoup for this special experience (and private tour by chance!). Highly recommended!

We had a lovely afternoon at the vinyard. The host was very knowledgeable, witty and interesting to listen to. We really enjoyed learning all about this smaller family run vinyard. We especially enjoyed trying 3 wines and 3 paired cheeses! We tried 2 reds and a sparkling white which was a nice surprise. Bottles are priced very affordable and they taste amazing. We bought a few to take home, just wish we had more room in our suitcase! There is also an option to ship home which we will be doing for Christmas time. Thank you again for a lovely experience and wonderful end to a birthday trip.

Wir hatten eine sehr angenehme und interessante Führung, bei der Tevin auf unsere Wünsche und interessen eingegangen ist. Der Wein war sehr lecker.

Simple, familiale et avec une aura féminine dès plus agréable, cette visite est une ode à ce que devrait être les visites à Saint Emilion! De la découverte des vignes à la dégustation, en passant par l'atelier senteur, nous nous sommes régalés. La sensation d'être à la maison tout en savourant leur grand cru tout en simplicité. Un rapport qualité prix de haute volée pour s'offrir un des plus beaux médocs de Saint Emilion aux arômes de fruits très agréables en bouche. Fermez les yeux, ouvrez grand les papilles, un voyage de charme vous attend au Château Ambe Tour Pourret!

We enjoyed the tour around the wineyard. Our guide was very nice and knew everything about the processes and wine in general. The tasting was an amazing experience as well. You can also spend a great time enjoying some drinks in the shade of the chateau, children can get grape juice instead of wine. We can only recommend the tour. Merci à vous!!

Very welcoming and excellent host. We had our own private tour which was amazing! Good explanation of the wine growing and making processes and we learned a lot about St Emilion, the terroir, the vines and the vineyard.

We learned more about all aspects of wine making than with our 4 previous visits over the past 3 days.
