Château de La Rivière

This is the best vineyard I’ve ever been to. We’ve traveled to many vineyards around the world, but this one truly stands out. The scale is unbelievable—25 kilometers of underground cellars that feel endless and absolutely breathtaking. The atmosphere is authentic, rich in history, and unlike anything else we’ve experienced. Mathilde is the best guide you could ask for—knowledgeable, fun, and passionate about sharing the vineyard’s story. She made the whole experience engaging and unforgettable. A must-visit for any wine lover!

Matilda was an excellent guide - her English was impeccable and she was very warm and knowledgeable about the chateau, the cellars and the wine. She took very good care of us all, including our two children, aged 7 and 10. We were all very well entertained wandering through the maze of the cellars and enjoyed tasting a good range of wines at the end (and the kids were happy with their sirop and colouring!). It was very good value for money and I would recommend it to anyone in the area.

La beauté des lieux, les histoires de familles, l'architecture du château, les caves, la visite très professionnelle ,pleine d'humour et de détails , sublimée par la sympathie de notre guide. La dégustation dans la salle d'armes avec trois crus plus qu honorables font de cette visite un incontournable si vous passez dans la région. Merci pour ce merveilleux moment.

The visit of the cellar was special, especially because the cellar is dug into the rock.

Our guide was informative and went the extra mile after to give us a suggestion for lunch and even called for the booking! Our kids ages 10,9,6 enjoyed the cave exploration and were treated kindly. Highly recommend!

Lovely informative tour & wine tasting. Guide Mathilde was knowledgeable & spoke great English. Cave visit was interesting. Wine tasting educational and highlighted differences in wines. Very pleasant & enjoyable afternoon would reccommend. Excellent value for money.
