About the winery

The entire 14ha vineyard is located at Ligré, especially at Saut au Loup on the left side of the Vienne, in Chinon AOC. Two types of soils composed the vineyard : a silty clay soil on the top of the hillsides and a clay and limestone one at the bottom. Ce fut un très bon moment, la dame nous a fait comprendre toutes les étapes de la vinification et nous avons découvert l'ensemble du domaine. Les vins étaient super bons, particulièrement le pétillant et le clos du saut au loup.

Eric is a very personable and well informed host. He owns the vineyard and his knowledge is excellent. We had a lovely time and the wines we tried were all delicious.

Tasting with wine maker

Wine maker delivered the tour. We visited the winery and he explained the wine making which was followed up in the tasting of the wines. He explained the appellations and we drank great wines. Really personable bloke. We were the only two there but no issues even though they were busy with harvest. Small boutique wineries are our preference and this is a reason why.
