About the winery

A Graves Cru Classé in red and white since 1953, Château Latour-Martillac owes its name to the tower that adorns its main courtyard, the remains of a fort built in Martillac in the 12th century by the ancestors of the famous philosopher and winegrower Montesquieu.

I am an oenologist from Italy, and I had the pleasure to discover a new reality for me with a madame full of passion who introduced me to their world, explaining everything from the vineyard management process all the way to the glass. She was extremely skilled and kind. The wines are truly good and very easy to understand, and as a professional in the field I can say that it is definitely an experience I highly recommend!

We went there to visit the cellar, learn something about the wine of the area and of course to taste the wines. The gir who showed us the cellar and supported the tasting was really kind and answered to all our questions properly, also the tasting was really good. Surely worth a stop!!

Même si vous avez déjà visité d’autres Châteaux Bordelais, celui ci présente une expérience hors du commun. Le cadre est d’un calme sidérant quand on se rappelle qu’on n’est qu’à 20 mn de Bordeaux. Les chais ont été réorganisés et font rêver autant qu’ils inspirent confiance dans la qualité de leur organisation. Enfin, lors de la dégustation, j’ai été séduit par le Château Latour Martillac blanc - élevé 17 mois en fût - avec un équilibre étonnant entre rondeur des fruits et finale boisée. Le Château a également élaboré une cuvée en blanc issue uniquement d’une parcelle de vignes de plus de 150 ans.

My partner and I had a tour/tasting with Mael and it was our first time in the Bordeaux region. The experience was fantastic! We learned so much about the winery, the history, and she didn't mind answering any of our questions. She eloquently walked us through the tasting; which was fabulous! I loved that it was educational and engaging. I know there are a lot of wineries to choose from, but I would highly recommend taking the time to stop here for an experience that you will remember.
