About the winery

Château de Sales is one of the few wineries in the Bordeaux region to have been passed down in its entirety from generation to generation for almost five centuries. Its Carthusian monastery, built in the mid-seventeenth century, has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1996.

Nous avons passé un très bon moment! Merci à notre guide pour la visite pleines d’anecdotes et pour les explications sur la fabrication de leurs excellents vins! De plus, le lieu est splendide.

Une présentation d'une qualité exceptionnelle. Un immense merci pour ce moment hors du temps. Vous nous avez fait vivre l'histoire de ce vin avec une telle passion que nous avions l'impression de partager l'histoire d'une famille. Une expérience authentique, captivante et inoubliable. Endroit merveilleux avec un super accueil. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié les anecdotes. C'était un plaisir de découvrir le processus de fabrication du vin. La dégustation était délicieuse. Malgré les 43°c de température, l'endroit étant climatisé, voir frais dans les caves, cela nous a peu impacté. Magnifique château que je recommande.

Our guide, Jeffrey, gave us a very informative tour and clearly knew the history of the Chateau. He also provided information about the wines and their vintages and we enjoyed his company.

Fantastic tour from start to finish. Our guide, Julia(?), provided excellent insights into the chateau and production. The tasting was both educational and delicious—a must-visit for the region.

My husband and I had a lovely afternoon with Sarah. Sarah is very knowledgeable and a very sweet young lady. We are here in the area from Northern California (Sonoma/Napa counties) to learn about French wines. So far, we are extremely impressed and learned a lot today. We are here for another four weeks and pretty sure we will be back to visit Chateau de Sales again to purchase more wine. Thank you so much, Carolyn and Rich
