About the winery

The Clos des Quarterons is based in Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil, in the heart of the Loire vineyards. Our estate has been the cradle of the Amirault family for more than 180 years and is now run by Agnès and Xavier.

Merci à Agnes pour son dynamisme d’avoir transmis l’amour de son métier et sa pédagogie. Elle nous a expliqué l’ensemble du domaine et toutes ses particularités. Les vins sont de qualité et au top en ce qui concerne le respect de l’environnement. Un domaine à recommander tout particulièrement.

We booked a tasting in english, it was a super nice experience! The different tastes and flavours were greatly explained by Regis, with a lot of background knowledge regarding soils and the way the wines are produced. Very interesting! He customised his approach to our wishes and tastes - highly appreciated and recommended!

Nous avons assisté à une dégustation de vin et de produits du terroir dans le cadre d’un enterrement de vie de garçon. L’expérience a vraiment été au delà de nos espérances. Un accueil et une animation de très grande qualité ont permis de sublimer de très bons vins. Nous recommandons !

We were given a very detailed and enthusiastic explanation of the wines we tasted and tried a whole range of wines from the estate. The wine was all good quality and there were different styles. We learned some new facts about the wine making process as well and were not rushed during the tasting.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié l'originalité de cette activité ! Les hôtes ont été très accueillants, autant que le guide. Ce dernier a animé la visite d'une très belle manière, à l'écoute et expert de son sujet, il a pu nous transporter dans son univers le temps de l'activité ! Les vins étaient, en plus de cela, de très bonne qualité.

This visit was chosen for the art work on the concrete vats, it did not disappoint. Brilliantly painted and portrayed with the story told by our knowledgeable guide. This is a visit suitable for people with mobility difficulties, highly recommended. The wine tasting after was outstanding, not sure I have ever had such a good range of wines with full explanation of the locality and method used for each one. Thankyou for a very enjoyable afternoon. I look forward to drinking the purchases made. Lesley
