About the winery

The Fonroque winery extends over 17.60 hectares of vineyards a few hundred metres north-west of the town of Saint-Emilion. It is spread over a limestone plateau and a west-facing hillside. Château Fonroque was the very first Grand Cru Classé to be certified biodynamic.

It was an amazing experience to visit beautiful estate of Fonroque and learn about their front-runner biodynamic winemaking from our most knowledgeable and kind host Ms Lisa. The wines we tasted were simply superb - elegant, rich, smooth. Absolute highlight of the St Emilion visit! Thank you!

Nous avons découvert grâce à Julien ce très beau vignoble de Saint Emilion. Il nous a très bien expliqué la culture en bio dynamique . La visite du chais a elle aussi apportée son lot de surprises. Pour finir une dégustation très agréable. A découvrir absolument.

Nous avons été particulièrement ravis de notre visite à la cave à vin. Comme nous n'étions que 3, nous avons pu poser toutes les questions qui nous venaient et avons vraiment bien compris la biophilie, le processus d'assemblage avec les différentes formes et matériaux de cuves. C'était très intéressant et c'est très certainement la meilleure visite de cave à vin que j'ai faite à ce jour !
