Château Grand-Puy Ducasse, Grand Cru Classé

I had booked just a 30 minute tour, but then the small group almost got an hour from our host who was unfortunately not a wine maker, but more a sales person. The château has been very nicely refurbished and the vats haning from the ceiling were impressive and unusual as was their wine cellar. It looked as if they have only just started to experiment with new tools such as amphora or biological wine making. We had two different vintages of their second wine, but just one from their first wine (2017) and not from one of their top vintages. Hence, I was not totally convinced of their wines, but it was an interesting experience still.

Très bien accueilli. On m’a d’abord expliqué l’histoire de la maison, ensuite je me suis diriger avec mon fils vers les nouvelles méthodes de fabrication de vins. J’ai très apprécié cette visite ainsi que la dégustation.

Accueil irréprochable, chaleureux et très professionnel. Tout était parfaitement organisé. On avait réalisé une autre visite sur Saint-Emilion, c'était super de pouvoir comparer deux approches différentes du vin. Les vins étaient de belle qualité.

We had a fantastic time. Ducasse was so accommodating as we showed up early. The location on the river was unique, and the wines turned out to be our favorite. Thanks again!

Superbe visite de cet extraordinaire Château, situé au bord de l'estuaire de la Gironde. La guide, très professionnelle et sympathique, nous a, avec passion, partagé ses connaissances historiques sur le site et expliqué, dans le détail, l'élaboration des divins breuvages que nous avons pu déguster peu avant la fin du parcours. Nous avons passé un très bon moment, merci pour tout.

Notre guide Océane nous a fait partager son enthousiasme pour les lieux tout le long de la visite avec ses commentaires pertinents... Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la visite des chais avec ses cuves en inox suspendues et son atmosphère proche d'un laboratoire ainsi que la dégustation du vin parfaitement commentée par notre guide.

We had a very informative tour and tasting at the chateau. The vinification is spectacular modern - we have never seen something a like that. The lady that did the tour was very professional and friendly- absolutely recommendable

The visit was good. We had to wait a bit in the lobby because a larger group was visiting, we saw that the guide was still busy. Impressive Château, nicely curated tour through the cellar with lots of technological augmentation. I have been to more intensive tastings in terms of guidance and explanations.
