A small treasure
By Martin for Discovery of the domaine Joliet winery a month ago 5
Beautiful place on a hill through tiny roads and almost no name on the street signs. The view from the vineyard was spectacular, the proprietor gave a great explanation of the history of the monks, showed us the wine press in the cellar from 1145 that worked for 800 years, until 1956 when his grandfather was using it. We tasted 3 wines; one a young, jeune, red and the other a premiere Cru, that was excellent. It was very personal, just my wife and myself, the owner's command of English was very good and more people should discover this jewel in Burgundy.
An amazing tour

Very informative tour. We felt welcomed at this excellent cellar. Rich in tradition, history, and architecture. Knowledgeable, friendly host, & great location. Wine selection was small but good.

We were lucky to get a chance to do this tour of such an historic area. Our host was excellent in his explanation of their vineyard and wines and the tasting was in their cellar which is a great experience. The wines were wonderfully balanced and the surprise we weren't ready for was such a great white to go with his reds. We would recommend to anyone wanting to know more about Burghandy wines!
