About the winery

During the 15th century, the property was a fortified farm. Later on, it became a manor house : then, during the 16th century, a castle. The last wing of the castle was built during the unions of the Colonel du Soulier and the Espinay family. This family also owned the Ussé castle located nearby on the other side of the Loire river. Delicious lunch and wine

We enjoyed our wine tasting today and the picnic lunch-the food was delicious and the tasting was led by an informative and knowledgeable employee. We also enjoyed the art in the tasting room-the ceiling lights were particularly nice! All in all it was a lovely atmosphere and we bought plenty of wine to enjoy during the rest of our stay in France and to bring back home with us.

Een fantastische ervaring! De proeverij was uitgebreid en goed verzorgd, met duidelijke en boeiende toelichting. Je merkt de passie en kennis achter iedere wijn. Zeker een aanrader!

The winery is beautiful with amazing art and the wine was excellent too. The chocolate pairing was interesting and enhanced the experience. Our guide was excellent and shared a lot about the region and wines.

Before coming to the tasting we didn’t have much of experience on wines, but the host was very accomodating and explanet the wines very thoroughly and could also answer all oof our questions. The farm is on a beautiful location. We would absolutely recommend this, and felt the experience was well over worth the cost. ?

Dégustation gourmande : cela a duré 2h au lieu d'1h30 , car le pauvre serveur était seul pour tout gérer.... Il s'est excusé plusieurs fois . C'était une journée " où tout allait de travers" d'après lui. Grosse affluence ce jour là. Nous avons goûté 9 vins différents avec planche de charcuteries + fromages dans un cadre superbe. Toutefois nous aurions aimé des fromages avec un peu + de caractère . Pas assez affirmés niveau goût pour nous. Les vins étaient très intéressants. 4 sur les 9 nous ont particulièrement plu. Serveur adorable .

We had such an enjoyable and relaxing picnic outside under the small trees with a light wind blowing. The food was superb food and we had nice wine pairings. Our apprentice did a great job hosting us and making us feel comfortable. We enjoyed the visit at the end walking the grounds and hearing more about the chateau’s history. Great experience and would highly recommend.
