Château de Marsannay

Emmanuel was extremely knowledgeable and personable. We spent time learning about the various terroirs of Burgundy and specifically the plots owned by the chateau. Then, after visiting the cave, we had an extensive tasting across a wide price range, focusing on the differences among climats in one vintage. Highly recommended.

Great experience. We went on the Sunday during low season so we were the only people in the group, so literally it was a private tour for us. Great explanation and very informative. I considered myself having some knowledge about wine from reading books, etc, and I still managed to learn a lot of new things from this tour. The tasting was OK and interesting that you get to taste the different climats or terroir of different wines. We could tell the difference of the regional wine vs the village, but the premier cru was from a different village/year altogether so it's quite hard to compare what does that look like. It was an interesting and educational experience and highly recommend for someone wanting to learn a bit about what Burgundy has to offer. What I like most is there is absolutely zero pressure for you to buy the wine. I could tell the guide is really passionate about the region and want to share his knowledge vs some places that they just want to sell you the wine.

The reception was nice. We started of with some explanatory maps. Building up the excitement was a visit to the cellars. The love for the wine and the respect for the wine maker were evident. The tasting was on another level. I was the only one in my group and I got that little extra attention that makes the experience so special. The wines? They were fantastic! And all very different, which is to be expected in Bourgogne. Hours later the tastes still lingered. My favourite visit and for me this is a newly found favourite wine maker. Could not have been better.

Près de deux heures d’initiation sur tous ce qui touche aux vignobles du Château de Marsannay, la visite des caves et le moment de dégustation. Une guide passionnée qui nous a captivée et qui a su se mettre à notre portée pour nous apprendre énormément de choses. Je pense que j’y retournerai avec plaisir avec de la famille ou des amis pour leur faire découvrir cette magnifique propriété avec une guide d’exception.

La visite a été très instructive et la personne en charge de nous a su adapter son discours et sa pédagogie à notre niveau de connaissance. Les vins présentés étaient très bon C’était vraiment un très bon moment dans une très belle maison du vin en bourgogne
