Château Taillefer

My husband and I had the best exprience with this small, impressive winery. We scheduled a tour and tasting and was pleasantly surprised at the lovely experience we had with a member of the family that has owned this winery for three generations, and the next generation is preparing to continue. Our tour guide was a grandson of the original owners. His brother is the winemaker. We had a tour of their facilities, which was fascinating. My husband and I are wine lovers and understand the process, so seeing their facility was wonderful. Following the tour we tasted the amazing wine, and ordered some to be shipped to us , including bottles from some of the best years since 2001. We are especially excited about getting the 2001, as it was amazing! I definitely recommend making this a priority if you are in the Pomeral region.

Family led, independent business which provides a smart and entry level experience for Pomerol. The chateau is pretty, and the lady leading the visit professional and explains really well. Obviously it's not a top tier pomerol producer, which fills the gap quite nicely if you want to access a premium area at a fair price.

We had the most wonderful experience at Château Taillefer! We had a private tasting and honestly couldn’t have been happier with our visit. The woman who hosted our tasting was amazing – so friendly, passionate and incredibly knowledgeable. She gave us so much interesting information about the estate, Pomerol and the wines, but in a very relaxed and personal way. You could really feel how much she knew and cared about what she was doing. And the wines… absolutely incredible! Some of our favourite wines from our entire Bordeaux trip. The whole visit felt warm, genuine and special, and we left so happy. Definitely one of the highlights of our time in Bordeaux and an experience we will remember. We would absolutely recommend a visit! ?
