Bois de Boursan

Accueil chaleureux, visite intéressante, et découverte de très bons vins traditionnels de Chateauneuf du Pape.

Nous avons été accueillis très chaleureusement par Alexis Versino, qui représente la troisième génération de vignerons au Domaine du Bois de Boursan.Notre groupe, composé de trois personnes aux horizons variés (connaisseur et néophytes, deux francophones et un anglophone), a particulièrement apprécié la manière dont Alexis a su adapter son discours et sa visite pour convenir à chacun. La dégustation, d’une qualité remarquable, a elle aussi été pensée pour s’accorder à nos préférences individuelles.Son enthousiasme et sa passion pour le vin étaient évidents et ont rendu l’expérience d’autant plus captivante. Il était vraiment agréable de constater qu’une nouvelle génération s’engage avec autant de dynamisme et de sérieux pour perpétuer ce patrimoine familial.Nous reviendrons l'an prochain avec plaisir !

The tour was better than we expected, in the sense that it was given by the winemaker himself and his operation was small enough that he was able to personalize it in a very good way. It took us a few minutes to make sure we were in the right location but once we met the winemaker (who's name I unfortunately have forgotten) and his wife, they greeted us very warmly. The atmosphere was what we would call in America a "mom and pop" operation, in that it is a small winery run by the winemaker and just a few staff. This was a positive thing for us, as we were treated like family and were shown everything by the expert winemaker, who's English was quite good. The tour was fascinating. He showed us every aspect of the operation, explained it to us in detail, and was very responsive in answering any questions we had. I think it exceeded our expectations. We tasted all of his wines, which are limited to a few but he didn't hold back his Grand Cru wine. He also let us taste the following year wine directly from a barrel, which was an unexpected treat. I found the winery thanks to the Rue des Vignerons's website so was especially happy that it turned out to be such a good visit. I would enthusiastically rate the visit as a 5 out of 5!

I absolutely felt very welcome, as Jean-Paul received me with great enthusiasm. The overall atmosphere is fairly simple but very cozy and inviting. As a wine lover, I appreciated the personal touch and passion from JP. I think his wines are of very good quality, though they may be a bit “cult-like” as they are powerful and structured, best enjoyed after aging. It was a slightly smaller production than I had originally expected, but one of my favorite visits. I especially appreciated that JP offered me the opportunity to taste the two latest vintages directly from the barrel. I can’t recall my favorite vintages and labels at the moment, but I bought a case from JP, and he was very flexible in arranging delivery to Clos du Caillou to simplify the shipping process. From a wine lover’s perspective, I can imagine some tourists might feel a bit underwhelmed by the size of the facilities if they are unfamiliar with the region, while others will be drawn to the personal touch and passion of Jean-Paul. I would personally recommend this visit to my friends.

Ca s'est bien passé! L'accueil était top! On était sur une petite exploitation familiale et intimiste! La personne du domaine était sympa et nous a expliqué dans les grandes lignes, ce qui était bien pour les débutants! Au niveau de la dégustation, je n'étais pas fan du vin mais ce n'est que mon opinion!

The host was very welcoming and the visit was both fun and informative. And the wine was excellent.
