Château de Poncié

What a lovely visit. Millie was a great host and the wines were fantastic. Thoroughly recommended.

We spent a wonderful two hours with Millie, who works with a team of ten at Château de Poncié. She took us up through an allée of plane trees to see the array of vines in their rows over the hills, explaining the different ways of planting and how they cared for the vines in a biodynamic vineyard. She was interested in our questions and experiences, and she gave us a huge amount of information without ever making the presentation overwhelming. Then we walked through the old buildings on the property, met the chickens and the sheep and saw where the pigs were housed in one of the plots, before tasting six of the wines in the tasting room. It was one of the most enjoyable vineyard tours we've had, and we very much look forward to enjoying the bottles we bought at home.

Our welcome was warm, the tour of the vineyard and the winery was very well explained and the tasting was varied and interesting. Highly recommended.

Millie delivered the tour with enthusiasm and is an excellent ambassador for Chateau Poncie! The refurbished winery is state of the art and will impress any wine enthusiast! The wines show that Beaujolais can produce outstanding wines. The renovation project on Chateau Poncie looks exciting and will undoubtedly lead wine tourism in the region. An amazing tour! A lot of information provided, very kind and gracious tour guide, incredible approach to children. We feel very lucky to have done this tour. The premises are gorgeous and have a promising future, looking forward to returning someday :)
