Located in Ladoix, at the southern limit of the Côte de Nuits, in the northern part of the Côte de Beaune (Chorey, Savigny, Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix), the Edmond Cornu et Fils estate is a family estate of about 16 ha of vines, whose production is mainly red with 14 ha of pinot noir, 1.5 ha of chardonnay and 0.75 ha of aligoté. Pierre, Edith his ... wife and Emmanuel his cousin manage the estate. As for Edmond, now retired, he brings his precious support by his numerous advices and his help. In 2020, it is Lucie, Edith and Pierre's daughter, who, after her studies at the wine high school of Beaune and at the Institute of Vine and Wine in Bordeaux, joined the domain, bringing with her her knowledge acquired from her experiences in France (Champagne, Rhône Valley, Provence) and abroad (New Zealand, South Africa and Oregon).
Over time, the estate has evolved to adapt to different economic, technical and social constraints. Thus, it has been considerably involved for many years in the marketing of the harvest, in bottle (100%), by numerous investments (equipment, material, buildings, commercial structure...).
The estate, involved in integrated pest management, and respectful of the environment, the plant and the people, was qualified as a "Reasoned Agriculture" in 2007. In 2011, it obtained the Environmental Certification and will be certified "High Environmental Value" in 2019. The estate is committed to a long-term work of sustainable management. It is a philosophy in which the production of high quality, healthy and ripe grapes is made possible thanks to the development of the vine in harmony with the environment where it lives (flora and fauna). In this way and in this spirit, there is no need for artifice in the vinification, it is the quality of the grapes that is most important to obtain quality wines with a beautiful personality. see more
