About the winery

It is in the historic birthplace of the Champagne, in Reims, that the House Mumm started in 1827. This almost bicentenary estate opens you the doors of its cellars where about 25 million bottles rest slowly. All secrets of the elaboration of wines will be revealed.

Belle expérience en petit groupe avec une guide sympathique et bien documentée. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié d’en apprendre davantage sur la fabrication de ce nectar des dieux dont nous raffolons et qui n’a pas sa pareille dans le monde.

Recommended part of your visit to Reims

We highly recommend this tour as part of your stay at Reims! The tour was full of interesting information about the house of Mumm, but also about the process of making Champagne. The guide spoke fluently in English and was well prepared. The tour took exactly one and a half hour, including the tasting. This gave us the opportunity to leave back home on a reasonable hour (our visit was on a sunday). We feel our visit at Reims wouldn't have been complete if we had missed this tour. Take in consideration that your outfit should be warm enough to visit the cellars, where temperatures are lower than above ground (e.g.: wear long sleeves) . We would recommend this tour to everyone that plans to visit Reims. One suggestion that can be made is to make it more clear that visitors can park on the domain and that they must walk all the way back to find the receptiondesk to start the tour (more signs could be usefull or this information in the text that is send prior to the visit).
