About the winery

The Alfred Gratien Champagne House was founded in Epernay in 1864, and the same line of cellar masters has been perpetuating and passing on a traditional know-how for four generations: rigorous selection of grapes from the best vintages, respect for the terroirs, vinification in small oak barrels and production of limited volumes. We booked the €60 tour & tasting the morning of our visit based on reviews and articles online. Our guide was funny, engaging and very knowledgable which meant we spent 2 hours learning lots but also having a great time. We had the 4 tasting options and think it was definitely worth the extra to try the vintage champagnes. Well worth the money and a fantastic afternoon well spent
