Champagne Alain Bedel

The Bedel family has been anchored in the Grand Porteron area since the 16th century. The first traces of the family can be found around 1540 as farmers, at first.

Gradually, the idea of planting a few vines on sunny slopes became a reality. At the beginning, it was about grapes for personal consumption. The production was at that time more ... than modest.

In 1954, the history of Champagne Bedel takes a new turn, with a will to evolve towards a more important production. Lucien Bedel is at that time a farmer and a winegrower. That year, 2000 bottles are produced.

This ambition of evolution continued through time. First, by his son Alain Bedel, and now with Virginie, his granddaughter.

Thanks to this impetus, the estate has grown to 8 hectares. Today, the 3 noble Champagne grape varieties are represented: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. The reputation of the estate with the public does not stop growing. see more
