Champagne Esterlin

In February 1948, three families living on the southern slopes of Épernay, close to the Côte des Blancs, decided to combine their know-how to create a joint project to produce champagne. Initially, 29 winegrowers took part in the venture, representing 23 hectares of vines.

Over the years, the cooperative has grown considerably, extending its ... vineyards to well-known terroirs such as the Coteaux du Sézannais and the Marne Valley, notably at La Chapelle-Monthodon. Today, almost 200 members cultivate 119 hectares, with a constant focus on the selection and harvesting of grapes.

The house stands out for its strong technical choice: the absence of malolactic fermentation, in order to preserve freshness, tension and ageing potential. The cuvées benefit from long cellar ageing. The Brut Éclat is aged for five years, then disgorged a year before being released. The other cuvées follow this logic of extended maturation: six years for the Blanc de Blancs Éclat and the identity cuvées, up to ten years for the vintages.

The reserve wines come from a solera initiated in 1972, a true signature of the house, which brings depth and complexity to the brut wines without a year. Finally, certain cuvées, such as the Blanc de Blancs Cléo 2012, are partially aged in barrel, enhancing their structure and aromatic richness. see more
