We were warmly welcomed, and the host was expecting us and spoke to us in English (apologies, we don’t speak French). The atmosphere at the wine shop was very charming, with an impressive cellar of wines. Lovely rustic ambiance. We didn’t really know what to expect, and if anything, it was more personal than we anticipated, in a very good way. He asked us about our preferences and also inquired if we had any dietary requirements, which was very much appreciated, as I am gluten-free (coeliac), and France can be very challenging for finding suitable options. He adapted the small tasting plates so I could enjoy them as well. We can’t express how much that meant to us!There were three of us, and we all tasted different wines, which was also appreciated. As mentioned above, we enjoyed the wines we tasted, the variety, and the host’s local knowledge and explanations. We were very satisfied and even purchased a few bottles. I was with my partner and my son, all from New Zealand. It was a holiday, and we were exploring Strasbourg for the first time as part of a six-week overseas trip. We had only a short time in the Alsace region and wanted an introduction to Alsace wines. Overall, we had a fantastic experience.
We enjoyed our time at Oenosphere. When we arrived, we were immediately guided to our table and offered some water, which made us feel very welcome. I think it’s a nice and cozy wine store with a pleasant atmosphere. The visit met our expectations because we knew we were visiting a top place. We were pleasantly surprised to also receive some food while tasting the wines, as we hadn’t expected that. The lady who assisted us asked what kind of wines we preferred (regional) and chose some excellent wines for us. We especially enjoyed the Pinot Noir and even bought a few bottles.I visited with two friends while on a tour through France to try wines from different regions, which is why we ended up in Alsace and wanted to taste some local wines.I’d rate Oenosphere 4 out of 5 on Activity part. We had a great time, but it didn’t feel like a proper wine bar due to the limited number of tables; it felt more like a wine store.
We enjoyed very well!
The guide was very attentive and did a very good job!
C'était très bien!
Pas grand chose à dire!
The tasting was great, in the middle of the city, which is very convenient. It was a very personalized tasting. Each wine was very good explained, and the side dish was well chosen.
We recomend it!
The staff was really informative and helpful. I really enjoyed the visit. Wines which were served were tasteful and the story told by the staff enhanced the feelings. Additionally, snacks were also served which suited wine. I recommend anyone to visit Oenosphere.
