About the winery

Château Grande Maison is a 14-hectare winery in Monbazillac, just 10 minutes from Bergerac. It produces wines in the Monbazillac and Bergerac appellations (red, dry and rosé), and has been farming organically for over 30 years, and biodynamically since 2018.

Excellent tour and tasting

We had a wonderful tour at the chateau and a wine tasting of 8 wines. We have a case to take home! Highly recommended.
Authentic Tour by the Producer

The very distinctive chateau is a charming amalgam of additions to an English castle built during the 100 Years War. Located very near the centre of Monbazillac, both the sweet Monbazillac wines and the more regional Bergerac reds, whites, and rosés are produced here biodynamically. All are AB (Agricultural Biologique) certified and, as I can attest, all are uniquely delightful on the palate. The chai tour was informative, especially since our guide is also the producer. His insights were very interesting for our German guests. We will definitely return here the next time we have guests.

Op bezoek geweest bij la grande maison! Een mooie rondleiding gehad. Duidelijke en enthousiaste uitleg gekregen over de wijnen die ze maken en het proces wat hierbij komt kijken! Na de rondleiding een proeverij gedaan van alle wijnen die gemaakt worden door dit huis! Een echte aanrader! Top!
