Thanks to Jasper for his excellent explanation of the wines/‘terroir’ and to the Australian family who certainly helped to contribute to what was a really enjoyable hour spent tasting the excellent wines from the Meffre Domaine (including the surprise of a rather delicious white).

We visited Maison Gabriel Meffre in July. It was a pre-booked guidance and winetasting. The host was very nice, knowledgeable and good in story telling, in addition fluent in English which was very good for us, being limited in understanding French.The wine we tasted, and bought, was indeed very good as well!
