Domaine Richaud

Embodying the philosophy of natural wines, the Marcel Richaud winery opens the doors of its cellar to share the values we hold dear. Come and discover the different expressions of the Cairanne appellation through a tasting in front of the vines or a visit to our ageing cellar, all of which are nurtured with passion and rigour.

Created in 1974, ... the Domaine Marcel Richaud was born out of Marcel and Marie's shared passion for the terroir, as they settled on their father's family land in the Cairanne appellation.
They quickly realised that their entire philosophy was reflected in our bottles: it's not just a question of "making wine", but of creating wines that pay homage to their terroirs.
With constant precision and rigour, each cuvée is an invitation to discover terroirs and grape varieties in their purest expression.
To achieve this, they quickly turned away from conventional farming towards practices that are more respectful of the soil and the vines, in line with the criteria of organic farming. The entire vineyard was awarded Ecocert certification in 2008, making this philosophy official.
At the winery, it is also embodied in the exacting processing of our juices: natural vinification, ultra-limited use of sulphur, elimination of all inputs.
Today, our 80 hectares of vines are treated with the same care and respect: from our AOC Cairanne, which comes in both white and red, to our vins de France and Côtes du Rhône, you'll find the same exacting standards: manual harvesting, multiple sorting, and other practices that we'll be delighted to show you when you visit.
